The Environmental Journey

Empowering the Community

Founded in 2019, Project Climate has led numerous successful campaigns that have produced real change, both in Brentwood and our surrounding community. Through diligently planned school-wide events organized by our dedicated members, we work to hold leaders and decision-makers accountable for their actions, moving them to rethink what is possible.

Elementary School Initiative

During the pandemic, we have been able to utilize Zoom and Microsoft Teams to bring Climate Change lessons to local elementary schools! We take 10-15 volunteers and assign them to different regions. We then used stuffed animals to demonstrate the adverse effects of climate change in these five regions. If you would like to learn more and possibly have us visit, click the button below!

Sapling of the Month

Each month, members of our organization are given a chance to present their sustainable action of the month. The officer board reviews these actions and decides on a sapling of the month, in which an award is awarded to the recipient receives an award and gift. At the end of each quarter we then proceed to picking an Honorary Sapling. This person will receive a gift card for their extraordinary efforts.

CSU East Bay Tree Planting

After growing 200+ saplings in 2019-2020, we are now planting them at CSU East Bay. This planting will occur late January and volunteer sheets will be sent accordingly
